2017-2018 IRIS Local Assistance Plan

The New York State Education Department has identified 150 schools in New York State as Local Assistance Plan (LAP) Schools. Schools were identified because they did not make Adequate Yearly Progress on a state assessment for an accountability group, or a subgroup's performance was at or below a particular cut point designated by the New York State Education Department.

The Indian River Intermediate School has been identified as needing academic improvement for the cohort of students with disabilities. In accordance with Commissioner's Regulations, a Local Assistance Plan has been developed. The plan is a collaborative and diagnostic self review that outlines the practices that are in place, the action steps that will be taken to improve, a description of district resources to be used, and the professional development activities planned to support the implementation. The Intermediate School remains committed to providing an outstanding and challenging educational experience to all of our students.
