8th Grade Guidance - Ms. Castello

Middle School Guidance & Counseling

Ms. Castello is currently the 8th grade Guidance Counselor and is working with the Class of 2017. She has "looped" with her students since 7th grade and is excited to help them prepare for their next big step - high school! She will then start over next year, with incoming 6th graders.

Any 8th grade students wishing to make a counseling appointment with Ms. Castello are encouraged to make an appointment during a free period (Study Hall, Homebase, Lunch) but can be seen as needed if they are in crisis. Stop in to the Student Services office and let Mrs. McKeever know you would like to set up an appointment to meet with Ms. Castello.

Ms. Castello attends weekly Team Meetings with the 8A, 8B and 8C teams to find out how students are doing in class. If teachers notice that students are struggling academically or they have concerns for their overall well-being, they are encouraged to communicate with Ms. Castello. Parents and students are an integral part of this team approach and are often invited in to meet with team teachers at the request of teachers, parents or administrators to help better communicate.
