Welcome to my home page! I am beginning my 31st year of teaching and I still love what I am doing.  My career began in Gouverneur where I filled in for a maternity leave for a third grade class. The following year, I moved to Watertown where I taught second grade for four years. After my twin boys were born, I came to the Indian River Central School District where I have been ever since.

I have taught kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade as well as college level courses for Mater Dei. In 2001-2002, I received an intensive year-long training to become a Literacy Collaborative Coordinator at the Primary level.

In 2004-2005, I was trained in the Balanced Literacy Intermediate Framework. I am now at the Indian River Intermediate School (4th and 5th grades), and Evans Mills (3rd Grade) where I am responsible for training and coaching 29 teachers in the Balanced Literacy framework. I am also in a model classroom at IRIS where I "practice what I preach" teaching students reading, writing, and word study. • I live in Gouverneur with my husband, Ron, of 27 years. We have twin boys, Michael and Nathan. Nathan is currently working in Albany where he is a Division Manager for Vector Marketing. Michael is a pharmacist with Kinney Drugs.  I also have 2 stepdaughters, Valerie and Rachel, who are married and have children. That means we are grandparents and have 8 grandchildren!

• We have 2 min pin dogs named Niki and Koko and a miniature schnauzer named Duke. We have added another miniature schnauzer named Grayson to the family. They are all very spoiled!
