SUBITIZE - to know at a glance the number of items presented, the limit for humans being about seven randomly positioned items
The foundation of mathematics is Number Sense. The foundation of number sense is Subitizing. Subitizing is somewhat of an innate ability that needs to be nurtured and practiced in order to improve. Any dice games, dominoes, or playing cards can help solidify this ability.
Below are some activities and PowerPoint programs I've created. They do take time to upload. Be patient. You can subitize anywhere, though. Have fun!
