Expectations My Resources

Welcome to Ms. Steblen's Living Environment class! This page is designed to answer questions that you may have about day to day policies and behavioral expectations.

Homework

Late homework assignments will not be accepted and students will receive a zero for any late assignment. If a student is absent, work will be due the following day the student receives the assignment. If a student is out for multiple days, that student will have as many days to make up the missed assignments.

Tests/Quizzes

Students may retake any quiz one time for a better grade. All quizzes must be made up before the Unit test date. Tests may not be redone for a higher grade. Students absent on a quiz or test day will be required to stay after to make up the quiz or test outside of class time.

Labs

Labs will be accepted until the END OF THE DAY on the assigned due date for full credit. Late labs will be accepted for a deduction of ten points each day following the due date. Students will be required to stay after school on the following day if a lab is not handed in by the end of the day on the due date. After four days, students will be required to serve lunch detention in order to complete the lab for a maximum grade 60%.

**Regents Biology** In order to receive credit for this class, New York State requires that students sit and pass a statewide exam at the end of the year. A student must complete 1200 lab minutes in order to be eligible to take the exam. Students that do not fullfill this lab minute requirement will take a local final exam and will not be able to receive the Regents Credit for the class.
