Welcome to all the new 6th graders. You are going to have an awesome three years with alot of growing and alot of learning. Our objective in the Health Office is to promote good physical and mental health, to prevent illness leading to disability and hospitalization and to facilitate learning and healthy living by providing school-based preventative health care and education to all students in the Indian River School District, as stated in our School Health Guidelines. Mrs. Burnham and myself are here to assist your students with medication administration (which we need a doctors order for), first aide, comfort management ,provide health information and immunization data collection. The 2008-09 year was our first year and we also mended torn clothing, treated stains, removed gum from hair, fixed glasses, provided PE clothing and shoes for those "ill"-prepared, as well as a whole host of other things in a day. If your student is ill, injured or just really needs to touch base with someone at home, we will call home or cell. If you are worried about something, give us a call.
