Looking for something to read or do?  When is your PUBLIC LIBRARY open?

Teacher Librarian: Miss Schied

Library Aide: Mrs. LaClair

What the library can do for you:  The library is a gateway to the world, a doorway to adventure, and a medicine chest for the soul (see my blog).  Here, you can:

- check out books on many different subjects, fiction and non-fiction

- request books that you would like to read, even if we don't have them

- learn how to research with competence and integrity

- investigate topics YOU are interested in

- find out what's new and cool in the world around you

- have fun and discover new things, every day

- leave suggestions for activities or ideas that will improve the library

There's something for everyone at the library, so come find out what we can do for YOU!

About the librarian: Born and raised in the Finger Lakes, I moved to the OTHER water region of New York State and found myself at Indian River!  I have a background in mathematics, philosophy, and music, so in addition to reading lots of amazing books, I also like working with numbers, thinking, and singing, sometimes all at the same time.  I enjoy lots of extracurricular activities, such as (as mentioned above) singing with two vocal ensembles, playing flute with the Clayton Community Band, cooking, gardening, watching the birds in my backyard, playing with puppies, horseback riding, and of course, reading.  My goal is to encourage students to enjoy a lifetime of reading and learning.  A little laughter never hurt either.  Or chocolate.
