Indian River High School Robotics teams receive top honors at FIRST Tech Challenge

Congratulations to both High School Robotics teams coached by Dr. Tyna Meeks and Mr. Dustin Burdick for their outstanding showing at the FIRST Tech Challenge held at Clarkson University on Friday, December 1, 2017. The two teams competed against teams from 10 other school districts. The robots had to perform tasks autonomously through programming and hand-controlled objectives. They also had to work in alliance with another team from a different school district.
Team 1 earned first place with the Winning Alliance Award for achieving the highest number of points in the challenge with their robot. They were first place in the qualifying rounds and undefeated throughout the tournament.
Team 1 members are Mallory Bridge, Madison Gibbs, and Jasmine Thorpe.
Team 2 earned second place with the Finalist Alliance Award for helping their alliance robot rack up the points for the two teams.
Team 2 members are Clay Reagon and Eric Stewart.
