To our Indian River Wolf Pack,
We've tallied up our totals for the IR-Ditarod Wellness Challenge, and to say we are proud is truly an understatement!
Together, our school community logged an amazing 3,804 miles. That’s about the distance from our high school all the way to Juneau, Alaska! A special shout-out to the Middle School for logging 1,300 of those miles, and setting the bar high for other schools to try and beat next year!
This challenge was all about staying active during the cold winter months. With the extreme cold we’ve had lately, your extra effort and commitment truly shine. You showed up, kept moving, and supported each other—and that is something to celebrate!
Individual results will be shared with buildings very soon, and we've got special tokens of appreciation for each of our building leaders.
As part of our new dual-initiative, we also want to send out a huge congratulations to Calcium Primary School for being #1 in the AHA Kids Heart Challenge this year! They raised over $6,000 for the American Heart Association and earned some very cool prizes in the process. What an incredible job helping hearts everywhere!
Thank you to everyone who took part in the IR-Ditarod Wellness Challenge. Your steps, smiles, and teamwork made it a big success. Keep up those healthy habits all year long!
Thank you,
Indian River District-Wide Wellness Committee

It’s National School Counseling Week, and at Indian River Central School District, we are shouting a huge THANK YOU to our incredible school counselors! 📢💙
Our counselors are the heart of our schools. Whether they’re navigating academic paths, supporting mental wellness, or helping students dream big for the future, they play a critical role in ensuring every student in our district has the tools to succeed. We are so proud of the dedication, empathy, and expertise they bring to our halls every single day.
Please join us in celebrating our IRCSD counselors!

Join us at Indian River High School for Arts Celebration Day on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 10AM-12PM! There will be fun art and music activities for the whole family as well as a preview of High School Musical. We hope to see you there!

On behalf of Indian River's District-Wide Wellness Committee, we are so proud of how hard you are all working to get your miles logged for your building! Keep up the great work! If you haven’t finished your miles yet, don’t worry – you still have a few days left this week to get them in the Activity Tracker.
This coming Friday marks the end of a fantastic wellness challenge, one that we believe will continue to inspire people to get outside and get active, even when there's not a cool prize at the end. That's because we are feeling the positive effects of exercise. We've got extra feel-good chemicals in our brain that make us feel happier and more energized. We feel our muscles getting stronger. And we're getting our hearts pumping to reduce our risk for disease later in life!
Speaking of hearts... we teamed up with American Heart Association this year to assist us with our wellness challenge, and they've got some cool things to show you.
First up, there's hands-only CPR. Our Bills Mafia-in-training students might recognize Damar Hamlin from their favorite team, but did you know that he's also an outspoken supporter of learning CPR skills? He knows firsthand that effective chest compressions can save a life in an emergency, and he wants everyone to join him as part of a Nation of Lifesavers. With your parent's permission, you can sign up for the AHA Schools app using your building's link below, where you'll see a special message from Damar and a video on how to perform hands-only CPR. We recommend watching the video with your family members so you can all learn together!
