    Reminder: Memorial Day Weekend 2025

As a reminder, the schools of the Indian River Central School District will be closed from Friday, May 23rd to Monday, May 26th in observance of the extended Memorial Day Weekend. We will welcome our students back to class on Tuesday, May 27th.

Memorial Day holds great significance as we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the Armed Forces to protect and defend our nation. Memorial Day goes beyond simply taking time off from work or school; it is a solemn occasion to reflect on the bravery and dedication of these individuals.

As you enjoy this long weekend, we encourage you to pause and remember those who selflessly choose to spend time away from their families and face grave risks, ensuring our safety and freedom. Let us cherish the moments spent with our loved ones and pay tribute to those who are no longer with us. Memorial Day serves as a reminder to honor those who have honored us through their remarkable sacrifices, contributing to the preservation of our cherished American way of life.

We would like to wish you a joyful and safe Memorial Day weekend. May we observe this occasion with utmost respect and honor for all those individuals whose sacrifices pave the way for a better tomorrow.
